Razonarás desde la Capa 2 hacia arriba: VLAN y troncalización 802.1Q, la familia del árbol de expansión (STP/RSTP), la agregación de enlaces EtherChannel, la tabla de direcciones MAC, la seguridad de puertos y el enrutamiento inter-VLAN con interfaces virtuales conmutadas. Ascendiendo a la Capa 3, el examen cubre la tabla de enrutamiento y el reenvío por coincidencia de prefijo más largo, el enrutamiento estático frente al dinámico, la distancia administrativa y las métricas, y los protocolos de puerta de enlace interior — RIP, OSPF (áreas, LSA, elección de DR/BDR) y conceptos de EIGRP — además de los fundamentos de BGP.
