About the DevOps & CI/CD Professional certification
The DevOps & CI/CD Professional certification validates that you can take software from a developer's commit all the way to a reliably-operated production service, using automation, culture and measurement rather than heroics. It is tool-agnostic: the principles transfer across GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Argo CD, Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes. The exam covers DevOps culture and the CALMS model (flow, feedback, continuous learning), version-control workflows (trunk-based development, GitFlow, pull requests and code review), continuous integration (pipelines, build and test automation, artifacts, fast feedback), continuous delivery vs deployment and release strategies (blue-green, canary, rolling, feature flags), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, declarative vs imperative, state, modules) and configuration management (Ansible/Chef/Puppet concepts), containers (Docker images, layers, registries, multi-stage builds, Dockerfile best practices) and an introduction to container orchestration with Kubernetes, artifact and dependency management, secrets management and DevSecOps (SAST/DAST/SCA, supply-chain security), testing in pipelines and quality gates, environments and promotion, monitoring and observability (metrics, logs, traces, SLI/SLO/error budgets, alerting), incident management, on-call and postmortems, the DORA metrics, GitOps, cloud deployment, rollback and disaster recovery, and automation/scripting with Bash and Python. Candidates should already be comfortable programming and reasoning about data structures, and ideally hold the Programming & Data Structures credential or equivalent hands-on experience.
What you will learn

- Continuous Integration & Delivery — CI pipelines and fast feedback, build artifacts and promotion, CD vs deployment.
- Release Strategies & Infrastructure as Code — Blue-green, canary, rolling and feature flags; Terraform, state and modules.
- Containers & Orchestration — Docker images, layers and multi-stage builds; Kubernetes Pods, Deployments and self-healing.
- Secure Pipelines, DevSecOps & GitOps — Secrets, SAST/DAST/SCA and supply chain; GitOps pull-based delivery.
- Observability, Incidents & DORA — Metrics/logs/traces and SLO/error budgets, incident lifecycle and postmortems, the DORA metrics.
